Time Space Photo Trial

Recently I have been interested in showing how we are all one through conceptual art projects. On the surface level we seem to be individuals operating as separate entities, but at our core we are united. Our connection is difficult to see because we associate so much with our own individual identity

In the moment, you are me and I am you - nothing and everything at the same time. As individuals we live in such a linear frame of mind we can’t experience or comprehend that it is all relative. Einstein had a point … space and time are here and now.

One day I hope to create a project that will help us to see we are all united. The world would be a better place if we operated as if what we do for someone else we are also doing for ourself. For fun I went to Grand Central with my camera and set the f-stop to 22, the ISO to100, and slowed down the shutter to speeds ranging from 5 to 20 seconds.

After about 10 seconds people started to disappear altogether. The room looked empty besides a few who were standing still. For some reason I thought the sea of people would photograph more like the current of a river or car lights when taken with a slow shutter speed. That was the desired effect, but alas.
